Frank är en trevlig bilkonnässör från södra Kalifornien. Han hörde av sig och frågade om jag ville marknadsföra hans väldigt speciella 1962 Cadillac Convertible kallad KING LOUIE. Den är byggd 2008 av Detroit Customs och är en en riktig show stopper. Den är ruskigt påkostad och inget har sparats på, byggkostnaden var 130.000 dollar! Bara den specialmixade lacken från House of Kolors i Candy Tangerine Pearl $25k. Inredning och cab är specialbeställt material från modehuset Louis Vuitton, samma som syns på handväskorna runt Stureplan (se länk: http://www.louisvuitton.com/us/flash/index.jsp?direct1=home_entry_us ) – därav namnet King Louie. Grunden var en oförstörd enägares bil som bara rullat 8000 mil i Kalifornien, när den ställdes in i garaget på 70-talet. Originalmotorn på 390 cu in är helrenoverad, balanserad och blueprintad. Detta är såklart inte en bil för den blyge! Är du seriöst intresserad, pallar att bli uppmärksammad och vill ha mer info eller bilder så hör av dig... Calling all Movie Stars, Mega Athletes, Realtor Celebrities, Housewives of Hollywood, Gangsta’s and Gangsters, Rappers and Rockers. You could be Mick Jagger or Kanye West (the Don of Louis Vuitton). All you need is a big personality because this baby begs attention wherever it goes.

There is just something about these late 50’s early 60’s Cadillacs that are airplane-”esque” in their presentation and the 62 is gaining in popularity because of that simple fact. The venerable 1959 and 1960 are almost too pronounced in comparison to the unique two year angle of the 1961 and 1962. The angled “winged” rear quarter-panels evoke the essence of the very first jet fighters, and the 62 takes on angles used in the F-100 Super Sabre Jet designed by North American Aviation.

This gorgeous custom is a one of kind 1962 Cadillac Convertible named “King Louie V” constructed by Detroit Customs. The car was show quality designed for a celebrity utilizing all Special Ordered Louis Vuitton Monogram Pattern Egyptian Cotton – convertible top, interior, door panels, seats, top boot and trunk! All material is in as new condition.

The exterior paint is an amazing special edition House of Kolors Candy Tangerine Pearl ($25k) sporting the ultimate in mirror-like finish. The color of the car is quite unique and calling it Tangerine is not exactly accurate. It is more of a Gold meets Orange meets Silver meets Pearl. I really don’t know exactly how to describe the color. All I know is THIS is THE COLOR on this Cadillac. This color changes dramatically depending on the light of day or night. It is almost like every hour of the day the personality shifts and becomes more pronounced. The paint is STUNNING to say the least. I have never seen a color look more RIGHT on a big finned Caddy from this era.

Might I add the body panels were completely rust and bondo free before restoration. We cannot find any evidence or even a dent to the original metal anywhere in the body. The original body lines are all crisp and as perfect as I have ever seen on one of these 62 Classics. The undercarriage is immaculate; completely rust and damage free. It is doubtful that this original classic ever had more than 50K miles on it. It almost looks brand new. I was told the car came out of California and belonged to an older gentleman that had it since new and drove it only up to the mid-Seventies and then parked the car in a garage where it sat until 2007.

Sound comes from a premium 1000 Watt Powerbass 2X1 custom sound system with monitor GPS and DVD. Housed in the trunk this marvelous system is wrapped in high-quality leather from one end to the other. A Custom Cadillac logoized glass window fronts the massive Woofer to bring the trunk up to the same level of stunning that the exterior, interior and engine compartment all convey.

The venerable heart of King Louie is a the original rebuilt balanced and blue printed 390 cid V8 engine rated at 325 horsepower, three-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, live axle rear suspension with coil springs and four-wheel drum brakes; wheelbase: 129.5.

Recently constructed by Detroit Customs, this 1962 Cadillac Convertible is like no other.. It has clocked less than 400 miles since the total restoration. The motor is topped off with an air cleaner accented with a hand air-brushed rendition of this very custom. The underbody is accented with tangerine neon lighting.

Well over 130k invested including the rebuilt balanced 390cu in V8 drive-train, all chrome and stainless plus a brand new set of 16” period correct Wire Cadillac Chrome Wheels with mid-sized white wall accent.

King Louie runs and drives exceptionally and exudes quality and confidence. The King has been shown only a few times and has been a hit at every function attended. Again, Louie has been driven less than 500 miles since completion. All power accessories function perfectly, and the stereo system sounds simply amazing.

The 1962 Cadillac has the perfect rear fin height and clean lines of a true classic.. the perfect car for a One of a kind collection, and offered at less than 50 percent of build expense... This car was originally a Southern California car that was shipped to Detroit Customs for the ultimate in custom personal automotive perfection.

This is one beautiful car with attention to detail that is hard to believe.
